This fic, whew son. I wish I had something more substantial to say than HOT FILTH RUN DON'T WALK. I'll say this. gracerene sells these two characters in all their canonical glory, signed, sealed, delivered. I can absolutely see them locked in this dance of bluffing and banter and oneupmanship. Great smut, killer dialogue. If these are your kinks, there are a few lines in particular that will hit you right there.

Three Yellow Things Right Now...

1. A recent scrap yarn bag, crocheted in panels and sewn together with whipstitching and single crochet:



Definitely went my own way on this one, but I think it paid off. Best crochet advice I ever got: "Put your hook somewhere. Draw up a loop. Do something with it." I think that approach speaks to many creative endeavors.



2. My favorite Hufflepuff! This war hero and Auror right here, in all his cocky, shoulder-padded glory, who's about to have his arse handed to him by his brother's girl:

I can't wait to get more Theseus canon. I was lukewarm on Newt in the first FB movie. It took Theseus to make me fall in love with Newt, and now they're a package deal. I love that they show us two very distinct types of Hufflepuffs — Mr. Straight and Narrow and Rebel With a Cause. An exciting dynamic when the two come together.

And Newt playing Theseus? Perfection. Mad props to Callum Turner in that scene.



3. Highlighting

I don't use it in books. Pencil underlining is for books. But I use it in my writing process as I throw ideas at the page. It's for those stray ideas that aren't quite right, but I'd better leave them for now, just in case. And make it so I can easily maneuver around them.

(Example from a WIP here, linked for kink negotiation related to consent play. Yup, realized pretty quickly that angle didn't need to be there, LOL! But just in case....)

It's also for those bits that I know are self-indulgent and going too far. But darlings!! Highlighted for my amusement until I'm forced to kill them.

Orange is a warm color that is associated with a variety of things including: excitement, vitality, invincibility, speed, vigilance, dedication, loyalty, family, success, friendship, power, change, harvest, and warmth.

Emphasis mine above because when I think of orange, I think of how Harry Potter must have felt all those things when he entered his BFF's bedroom for the first time ever.

Harry stepped in, his head almost touching the sloping ceiling, and blinked. It was like walking into a furnace: Nearly everything in Ron's room seemed to be a violent shade of orange: the bedspread, the walls, even the ceiling.

Ahhh. TFW when you've just been dramatically rescused in a flying car, fed more in one meal than you've eaten all summer long, degnomed a garden for the first time, and you're so sleepy and full and ecstatic to finally have a family of your own, but man. So much orange. XD Apparently with good reason.

To think that Ron was ashamed of his home! He couldn't possibly imagine how very far that would be from Harry's mind, how very perfect the Burrow would be to Harry. In every way the opposite to the "home" he had just rescued Harry from. My feels.

On a side note, can we talk about the fact that 12-year-old Harry's head almost touched the ceiling? Poor Ron. How did he ever get in that room after 16?

For that matter, how did all three of them fit in it at 17? Oh my, it must have been very cramped indeed in that room as they made their plans. :D And somehow Hermione still had room for every book she owned.

Ron love forever. Burrow love forever. Chudley Cannons forever! *sigh*

Meanwhile...

Sometimes I see something — a bag, a jacket, an embellishment — and I just have to knock it off. I can't rest until I've figured out how it was made and tried to make it myself.

I've been deep-diving crochet on Pinterest, and I kept seeing these bags by Italian designer Daniela Gregis. And every time one popped up, I would stop scrolling and marvel enviously: How did she *do* that?? Structurally, they are the most basic of designs, but her use of color and texture and pattern is remarkable.





I knew I could get close. And I just couldn't rest until I'd made my own version. And here it is! (Albeit with much worse photography. Edited because my pro designer husband was bored and took pity on me and hauled out his digital & tripod.)
